From a real bad Sprint engine, for a STREET car, that was put together with a few “reconditioned” parts obtained from a large British company, you still can make a reasonable engine with common sense and an eye for details.
Originally this engine put out 115 Din Hp at the wheels on our Dynojet Dyno with a set of new 45 Webers and the best possible jetting. The so called "reconditioned" head was so bad that I refused to use it, the owner of this engine had luckily a few old heads I could choose from. Unfortunately there was no money for new light pistons and modified con rods.
The end result was a good 175 Din Hp with only 10.2 C.R.
